Alpha class landing ship
After the Battle of Savo Island, Rossiya found that unloading cargo especially vehicles on beaches was taking too long and too labour intensive which left them vulnerable to enemy attack, so they developed a landing ship an idea copied from the British to ease the unloading and loading vehicles and cargo. They were armed with 4x5inch guns in the rear, 8x40 mm anti air guns and 8x20 mm anti-air cannons. They were capable of carrying 24 Shermans/20 Uhlans/24 Cromwells/22 LVTs or 22 trucks. About 900 of these ships were constructed and they helped get troops on the ground very quickly.

Well I don't understand too much of landing ships, but isn't too long?

I just can get the picture of 21600 Shermans trying to organising parking on a small island in the pacific out of may head :P .

On a more serious note would it not make sense to,
- 1/4 the size ?
- 5' on sides so the can hit beach as you run in ?
- cut the AA guns so you have space (and manpower) for the troops (4x40mm + 6 x 20mm will do)

That is an exceptionally poor hull shape for an LST

Hi Oberst,

I think the hull needs to be shallower at the rear - compare this to the LST here:

Also note that the propeller is quite often protected by the hull shape - I worry how those exposed props will fare on a debris-laden beach (even if the landing goes smoothly and you're not travelling over the wreckage of your comrades I assume any preparatory bombardment is going to have blown a lot of debris into the water). Also, 4 5" guns? Is that not somewhat over-armed for a landing ship? I assume that any landing is going to have fire support, bear in mind that the ship does have to get back off the beach - the "real" LST carried 40mm maximum, I think (well, plus 4" smoke grenade mortars, Wiki says, but that's not exactly in the same weight category as a few 5" guns...)

Regards,
Adam

Angriff class Landing Boat
This is the Rossiyan landing boat which seen action on all amphibious assaults the Rossiyan Army, Rossiyan Marine Corps took part in. It was a very large boat armed with a dual 25 mm anti-air cannon and two dual 50 cal machine gun mountings. It can carry about 200 men, two Shermans, one Uhlan or 6500 kg worth of cargo. There were 15000 of these by the war's end

Zhalo class escort destroyer
This was the vessels that eased the burden of convoy escort from the destroyers. These escort destroyers, according to what the Rossiyan Navy refers to them or as everyone else calls, destroyer escorts were quick to be built from the same hull from a large commercial fishing boat. These ships are armed with two 5 inch guns, a dual 100 mm cannon, 4 triple 40 mm anti-air cannons and six dual 25 mm anti-air cannons, one quadruple 610 mm torpedo tube launcher and a depth charge launcher. This class of escort destroyers have a top speed of 25 knots thanks to it two steam turbines and two boilers. These ships need a crew of 198 to operate at full efficiency. There were to be 200 of ships planned to be launched but only 95 were completed before the war's end and of the 95, 6 were lost in action, 2 in the Black Sea, 1 in the North Sea, 1 in the Atlantic and two in the Pacific both at the Battle of Samar, (RFS Hornisse and RFS Mol'). These ships have no armour was so ever because they are too small and steel was need for the production of tanks, guns, trucks et. cetera and to repair, refit and rebuild those damaged warships because someone wasn't doing their jobs (I am looking at you, Jankyn)

First off I hope this doesn’t sound to negative but,

Compare you ship to a RL one,

My points would be,
1) - quick to be built from the same hull from a large commercial fishing boat (your screams warship, look at RN flowers for fishing boats types)
2) - have a top speed of 25 knots thanks to it two steam turbines and two boilers ( not cheap or quick to build or any sort of wartime bottleneck at all )(look at the other ships funnel numbers/size)
3) - no big DD had real armour so why talk about it on your cheap DE ?
4) - The director is very very expensive (like putting a full AAW radar (Aegis SP1) on a modern corvette ( LSC or cheaper) it just doesn’t make sense
5) - why mix the guns ? (5' and 100mm do almost the same job but mean you will have to carry 2 types of shell and 2 different ballistics to calculate for),
6) - an yes you also have lots (to much IMO) of surface weapons and not much ASW (U boat) weapons when the main job of an escort (DE) was to guard against U boats.... (Who are you going to use 4x610mm v ? if you have a surface threat you aren’t short of real warships to deal with them are you ?)

IMO you need to decide what you want (cheap ?) and stick to it 100mm (2x2) would work (+2x2 40mm + 20/25mm) and cut engine costs/funnel numbers (and no directors), and then fit lots of ASW kit (Sonar would be very useful ;) )
O and don’t forget the good parts of your design (the hull looks like it would be good in any storm) :D
