Re: Republic of Rossiya, Beast from the South
I'd like to know more about the origin of the name "Rossiya", since the one entity I'm thinking about is the huge imperial one in the north... Maybe it could be an interesting idea to explore the possibilities of using a name more local, in whatever tongue you'd prefer? It might end up as a more exciting affair...
Anyway, a warm welcome to Shipbucket, and the very best luck to your AU!

Yeah, that's rather surprising name. Maybe rather something like Novaya Rossiya (New Russia)?

Re: Republic of Rossiya, Beast from the South
Well, firstly it was inhabited before the formation of Imperial Russia so that why it was not called Novaya RossiyaYeah, that's rather surprising name. Maybe rather something like Novaya Rossiya (New Russia)?
Also, the Republic of Rossiya used to be the Empire of Rossi until the British took over in 1612.
Rossiyans were under British for about two hundred years and thirty one years as they fought for liberation in 1863 with complete independence in 1865

Re: Republic of Rossiya, Beast from the South
Then why, of all words that exist in all languages, it has to be named "Rossiya"?
"New Ruthenia" then?
"New Ruthenia" then?

These ships will all have German, American, Japanese and to a lesser extent British (The Brits were very harsh to the Rossiyans during their colonization so the Rossiyans were quite anti-British)

Rossiya was the only nation to deploy forces on both sides of the European theater of war, Western Europe Front and the Eastern European Front. After the war, Rossiya turned into an economical powerhouse and it was a serious threat to both USSR and USA during the course of the Cold War.
