Magazine cover - Cross-section view

Conceptual design from the September 1940 issue of Popular Mechanics, detailed in the pages linked above. Drawn in 2018 but never uploaded or posted until now, meaning it's a bit stylistically out of date but I don't particularly have a desire to update it and just wanted to get it posted.

A nice rendering of a profoundly weird concept. No actual naval architects were harmed in the writing of that article. I can't decide which I find funnier, the twin, triple, and quad turrets on the same hull, or the uptake-bulge idea.
