Hi I'm working on the S class (HMS Sabre 1918 to start with) does anybody have a source on its badge ? (or any pics)
My WIP so far
The later ones are just from text so may not be very accurate.

Fine drawing, though the port-holes are too small regarding sb-rules. I know they will be off scale then - I've got the same problem with my Acasta class destroyers - but that's one of the limitations drawing in sb-scale
Regarding the badge for HMS Sabre you can find it on the net here:

or just copy paste it

Looks great so far. Seem that the huge amount of Pre-WWI and WWI destroyer will get some more attention.

Nice job JSB, picking one of the class that served right through WW2 is a good choice.

This might help JSB. Yhe only problem being as you see the date of issue was 1971. There wasn't an official badge released for the earlier ship.

There is an unofficial badge that is more likely to have been used at the time.

About time these will move to the Real Life thread, but to fully comply with the Shipbucket rules, you'll need to place each drawing in the correct template, and use the correct font.
These are great drawings, which I like very much.
BTW the photo is captioned as HMS Saber 1939, which I believe is doubtful.

This is quite interesting, though I should have discovered it by myself because the badge shape for destroyers was then the shield shape! The question is why HMS Sabre didn't have an official badge (she was commisioned in 1919 when the official badge rules was implentated)? Or could she have the badge shown by Bombhead but in a shield shaped badge? I will try to find out and urge Bombhead to look in his sources too

There's something about WWI destroyers. I think that the lack of AA and
electronic clutter makes you look more closely at the design. I really
appreciate being able to see these ships in color. Thanks!
