Has anyone done a 5 stack liner
In the book Damned by Destiny the US had planned a five stack liner anyone have any design portraying this possible layout
Re: Has anyone done a 5 stack liner
The 5-funnel design was German, and the 6-funnel design from Scientific American is in German colors.

Not quite what you're asking but here's one a friend of mine drew for me some years ago based on a drawing and story I wrote;
A nice poster.
And then perhaps more realistic, a 'smaller' sister;

Wow, seems odd but interesting to see, maybe because we are used to seeing 4. 5 and 6 seem so weird and out of place

Do you know any source or revelance to that profile? was this something planned by what line?CanisD wrote:The 5-funnel design was German

Both pictures are from Damned by Destiny. The 5-funnel design was Norddeutscher Lloyd from 1902. The 6-funnel design was from 1900 and was just an idea for "the liner of the future" with no specific line, though it was based on the Hapag Deutschland.

I'm curious, does Damned by Destiny say anything about the dimensions/tonnage of that five-funneled NDL ship?CanisD wrote:Both pictures are from Damned by Destiny.
