Royal hellenic Navy, Heavy Cruiser Vasilefs Georgios 1942

#1 Post by Navarchos »

Here is a personal design which i worked for more than 2 months.
An idea of a Heavy Cruiser for RHN named after King Georg the First of Greece
There was another ship on this class named after the Queen Olga (Vassilisa Olga)
Both were build between 1939-41...

I let other look in to the the area "Do it works..." section. But at first glance it looks workable.

I will only comment on the artistic bit today: It's a pretty damn good work. The only thing is the propeller protection you have should be outlined in black since it stick out of the hull. how you are shading it make it looks like it is just some sort of a plate on the hull.

Looks good but I have to say the dark red shading doesn't really work with that brownish underwater hull.
I also suspect you're somewhat early with the radar, especially when from what I can see, you don't have any search sets.
At this point in time the RN was eating up everything the British electronics industry could throw at it as well as everything the US supplied.
“Close” only counts with horseshoes, hand grenades, and tactical nuclear weapons.
That which does not kill me has made a grave tactical error

Ooh, now this looks excellent! Normally when I see own design ships there's always something that looks a bit off to me (even when I try to draw it myself), but this really does everything beautifully. It is worthy of applause. :)
