*Ahem*
While I already have some own designs I'm working on, I would like to give a stab at trying a real design and see if I can manage it.
After searching the forum and looking at the archive, I noticed nobody seemed to have made or called dibs on the Satsuma class ( one of Japan's semi-dreadnoughts). I might have missed it though.
So I would like to officialy ask the question:
Has anyone made the Satsuma?
And if not, may I have a go?
Alternatively the Aki, since it was somewhat different.
*EDIT* Thread renamed.
*EDIT* Posted current version in first post:

No reason why you can't take that on. And a good choice

Excellent. I'll get to the library tomorrow and find some good refence books. I've already started, making basic hull lines and the armament.

A real ship like Satsuma would certainly up your chances of being "graduated" beyond the Beginner's Forum (if you're not already at that point already).

I think you give me too much credit, but thanks a lot!
So, here a VERY WIP picture. Since I only have a very pixly blueprint at the momment, I can't get to working on the details yet, but basic hull and armament is there. The 4.7"/119mm is probably going to be changed as soon as I get my hands on better reference pictures.

Well, it's a semi-dreadnought. They never exeeded 20 000 tonnes and/or 150 meters in length(I think the number was around there).
Aah, thanks a lot(Arigatô Gozaimasu!)!
Those are the blueprints I'm currently working by, but the other links are very interesting...

Further WIP. This will take a few days to complete, let alone finish.
It's really hard to shipbucketize an existing design... But fun

As someone who has been working on a particular drawing for almost two years I can tell you that it's well worth the work.

And oddly rewarding.
