USS Chicago, Albany-class CG

#1 Post by dalamace »

Hello everyone!

Today I present the USS Chicago, CG-11, an Albany-class guided missile cruiser. She has been made as a Baltimore-class heavy gun cruiser before retrofitted extensively as a missile cruiser.

The hull of the Chicago has been drawn by Colosseum as the USS Baltimore. Anything wrong with, please do tell!

Thank You!

I do wonder how they managed to solve the top-weight issue on her?

BTW. Remember to add on the missiles, they should be placed above the ship.
- AAW missile pointing up
- ASuW missile pointing horizontally

The drawing should also be put on a proper template:

- whit shipbucket logo, down in the right corner

oh she is quite and update, from that one we have in the archive

I'm very happy to see this finally represented. One of my favorites, and it's an excellent drawing.

How solid is your sourcing on the paint scheme of the ship's boats? I can't specifically lock down 1963, but none of the color photos I've seen from the 1960s show haze gray.

Yeah, seems to be on me. It now has a splash of black, and there're more fixes.

I served aboard Albany. You’ve done a very fine rendering of one God ugly ship.

Thanks for the memories.
