One of the ferry did have small mistake during late Friday. The ferry survived with no leakage (Norwegian build ferry), the passengers was given their own cabins for the night.

I think they either had an Engine problem (something these ferry's often have, result of running the engine close to maximum for 20/30 years+++), or the captain misspelled the current in the sea.
