Interesting additions.

Shin Meiwa SS-2 airliner
Shin Meiwa designed several unbuilt flying boats, but the model that probably came closest to production is the airliner variant of their SS family.
During the design for the upgraded US-2, Shin Meiwa also proposed a civilian airliner variant of their original SS design. Even with commonality with the already built PS/US series of aircraft, as all other manufacturers have discovered, there is not a sufficient modern market for amphibious airliners.

A shame there is no market, but a good looking concept nevertheless. Some of the giant Shin Meiwa projects were slightly nuts!

Shin Meiwa LA
By 1977 Shin Meiwa had designed a complete family of jet-engined flying boat airliners to follow on from their SS design.
The smallest model was originally called the SS-X, but redesignated LA as their light amphibian. As with all of their jet flying boats, USB engine exhausts were to be utilised to improve landing and take-off performance. Uniquely for Shin Meiwa, the LA featured retractable wing tip floats. Wind tunnel tests were to be started in late 1977, but the programme was shelved.

Great additions.
Re: FD scale Never Built Designs
Grumman/Shin Meiwa ASR-544-4
As well as solo projects, Shin Meiwa also collaborated with Grumman, designing an advanced ASW flying boat.
Amongst the advanced features was the inclusion of an ACLS, so becoming more of a flying hovercraft than a true seaplane.
Painted in the colours of an S-2E Tracker of VS-41, and as a replacement to the JMSDF PS-1.
Corrected the air ducting for the ACLS.

Re: FD scale Never Built Designs
They some very futuristic ideas, nice to see them in FD scale, as a company Shin Meiwa tends to get overlooked.

There is a small mistake. The window to the upper left of the roundel is the intake, and small circular window to its immediate right is the exhaust for a pair of gas turbines that feeds the active boundary layer control system and the air-cushion landing system. Apologies for the overly large image.

Thanks @ForceA1. I must admit I didn't refer to the internal diagram, only the 3-views, so misinterpreted that.

Never heard that plane before. Any idea of what kind of engines would she had? PW JT8D perhaps?
