Re: Vacation Announcement Thread
Not exactly a "vacation" announcement. Rather to the contrary... :/
ShXXXy economic realities, bleak perspectives and other "pleasures" led me to make a sad and painful decision to emmigrate from Poland to Great Britain. On wednesday, 23rd of July (so in exactly in a week) I'm going to board a bus and next day will arrive in Birmingham (though my actual destination is West Bromwich).
This is something I was considering for a long time, was making steps to do it for some time, and now it is happening.
In regards to Shipbucket, while I hope to keep my level of participation in the long-term on a reasonably high level, temporarily, certainly at least in the first weeks, it will be obviously less possible than now.
Of course, I'm going to keep maintaining the FD lists (will post an update early in the next week) and collecting drawings for the future FD archive etc. But oterwise, until I'll really "install" myself there, I'll be less present here.
(I also hoped to post some stuff before going - some of it promised to certain members of our community, but for practical reasons it seems not too likely, though I hope I'll be able to fulfill these promises relatively soon)

Wait, what? I quite literally live 12 minutes away from West Brom. I know there's quite a sizable Polish community in the area so hopefully you'll settle quickly here. Best of luck with the move.

Best of luck and safe travels, my friend!
Re: Vacation Announcement Thread
Thank You, Dear Friends, for all Your good wishes for me!
@Blackbuck
Yeah, I though You live somewhere in the area.
Don't You know about any job vacancies around, btw?
@Jabba
Majority of my jobs so far were various kinds of penpushing. In my last I was part-archivist, part-data entry clerk in a municipal institution.
But after moving I'll rather have to start with putting merchandise on shelves in supermarket or something similar. Well, that's life.

Re: Vacation Announcement Thread
Not off the top of my head depends what you're looking for. There's a couple of agencies and a job centre within WB itself. I'm sure one of the Polish grocers could employ you until you get on your feet over here.

@ Eswube.
i hope it alls works out for you here in the UK.
i would agree with Blackbuck get yourself signed on with an agency there are many with wide range of work, depends what sort of income you like but if you've worked in archive and data entry work and your english is good then the Birmingham, West Brom and Wolverhampton areas are full of companies wanting this kind of employees most get there's through agencies......
good look in your future....
