one option to do something like this though is move the boilers to the sides of the ship, with turbine rooms in between. this might give more space for the turrets. I don't know if it would be enough though.....

Doesn't that only work for turbo electric ? (what advantage does TE give you ? apart from range and not having to cut gears ?)

You still need a 'motor room' at the rear so just uses even more space I think ?

the iowa's and montana's had the same arrangement, roughly, so it does work.
and the biggest advantage of TE is a really fast reverse :P. other then that, more freedom arranging your ship.

So I will rearrange the guns and the funnel in the centre area.
I will also reduce the armour from 15 to 13 inches.
I forgot to mention in Rossiya's history that, it gave women the right to join the military or do male dominant work in 1863 and the right to vote in 1865.
I will also add that it was the first class to be equipped with turbo electric propulsion

Hi Ace,

I'd thought TE also allowed for a simpler engine setup (single turbine vs HP, LP, reversing and all of the associated steam lines) - but I also had a question ... wouldn't TE allow the motors to be placed aft of the turrets completely, so you'd eliminate any issues with the barbettes interfering with the prop shaft? I don't know if the geometry makes that a possible but silly idea, however...

A better ship now, but you may want to place the middle turrets more forward, and so move the aft turret forward. That will leave more space for the engines, and electric motors, should you choose turbo-electric drive.

I have often seen ships that have (Spezialy on old BB's): turret magazine/ER/BR/turret magazine/BR/ER/turret magazine. But that would give an long shaft.
