Re: Kingdom of Grays Harbor
Now what you can do is to ask your flag waving signal guy to vacate the top platform on your foremast and have a main gun director fitted there. That'd be the neatest solution and it'd make the ship appear much more handsome. In fact, it's so darn handsome, that with a few modifications, I'd want her for my AU! Of course, if you'd allow... - as for the practical arrangements, I'll leave that in your capable hands!

I'm not sure if 20 mm autocanons where in use in 1919. If 1919 is a year?Zephyr wrote:COASTAL MINELAYER - VINCENT STOURLEY CLASS 1919

I don't know, last time I fitted a gun director on a tripod mast I was shouted down for that too. And that was just a secondary director.bezobrazov wrote:Now what you can do is to ask your flag waving signal guy to vacate the top platform on your foremast and have a main gun director fitted there. As for using the design for your own AU, sure, go for it. I have no problem with that.

Bah, it's my idea, so I'll have your sixes on this, mate! And, thanks, very generous of you!

Re: Kingdom of Grays Harbor
The Becker 20mm, designed by the same gentleman who later designed the Oerlikon 20mm, was in use on aircraft as early as 1916. I don't believe using them on naval vessels in the 1920's would be out of line. I'll just call it a "1 Pdr" instead, which had been adopted for naval use in the 1890's. (even though most 1 Pdrs were actually 37mm)Rhade wrote:I'm not sure if 20 mm autocanons where in use in 1919. If 1919 is a year?Zephyr wrote:COASTAL MINELAYER - VINCENT STOURLEY CLASS 1919

Caribou Class (New Kandor Royal Navy; Royal Salish Navy)
The Caribous were ships of the Illustrious and Resolute classes transfered to the RNKN in 1931. Between 1934-37 they were extensively rebuilt as Light Cruiser/Destroyer Leaders along the same lines as the Enterprise rebuilds. The primary difference between the Caribous and Enterprises was the armament, the Caribous using license-built Aerigian 5"/38's in place of the Harberian 6"/50 twin mounts as used on the Enterprise and Lancer. The Bobcat (ex-Archer) was sold to the Salish Navy in 1936 while building and renamed Yucht. In addition, the Caribou and Lynx had their triple expansion engines replaced with geared turbines. All were recommissioned in 1938
