Says who? The word has no strict definition either way. The US has had marines and amphibious army units at the same time, there's armies that operate entire navies, navies that has armies. Heck I'm sure there's been air forces that has had armies and navies.

US LMTV is based on Steyr 12M18 and use Caterpillar engine. Nice with the MERDC camo, although I think that something more "German" camo would be better.
Can I borrow the truck for my AU?

Said german tradition and designation of seebataillons. Germany did not have the independent naval infantry unit but they ware ALWAYS part of Navy. USMC are part of the USN they do not have a single army unit if you will try to say to the Marine that he is the army unit he will kick your sorry ass in to oblivion. Navy is Navy, Army is Army, Air Force is Air Force...

What would you think to be a more 'German' camo?

I think that German MERDC is darker. Or a striped camo like Leo 2 of Heer (today of course).

Maybe the colors don't fit perfectly, but it is the European winter camo from the M113 drawing and I think Germany would use this one.
Btw, the next one
Lkw 2,5 t tmil Typ 1
Introduced in 1952, the Lkw 2.5 ton tmil type 1 was the first medium truck to be fielded by the Reichswehr. Based on the Kaiser M35 family of cargo trucks 9,000 examples were build by Lafayette Motorenwerke, Germany's largest car manufacturer, between 1952 and 59, with additional 3,500 by Krupp Motoren- und Kraftwagenfabriken, and 2,500 by Henschel-Werke.
After three decades of service, these trucks began to be replaced by the Steyr 12M18 based Lkw 2.5 ton tmil type 2, and by 1998 all were either scrapped or sold on the civilian market.

It is coming...
Dornier Hkp 7F
Dornier built Bell 212 as used by Heeresfliegerregiment 85 of the Imperial German Army Marine Command.
Lkw 2,5 t tmil Typ 2 FüFu
A number of 2.5 ton type 2 trucks have been equipped with special shelter to serve as command vehicles. These socalled Führungs- und Funkfahrzeuge (FüFu) are used with the battalion HQs of the Landser, the German light infantry.
Based on a similar vehicle from GlaceFire's Kingdom of Caribia

Hey guys. Could you please take a look at the Lkw 0.5 ton Wolf. I darkened the brown color of the hardtop version and would like to know if it is better now, before I change all the other drawings.
