General Dynamics F-16C/D Block 60+ x60
The mainstay combatant of the West Floridian Air Force, Block 60+ has a vital role in protecting the skies of West Florida. Upgraded in Texas by General Dynamics starting in 2014, the F-16 Block 60+ has a total of 60x units in service comprising the 100th, 102nd, and 103rd Fighter Squadrons. The Block 60+ upgrade included conformal tanks, upgraded avionics, better radar, structural upgrades, better ground targeting, and better EW capabilities. The Block 60+ will serve at least until the 2040-2045 time range when it will be replaced by the CICFA Pegasus.
Convair F-106 Delta Dart
Inheriting a limited amount of older-generation aircraft, West Florida let several squadrons worth of elderly aircraft left to rot on some airfields, one of which is the aging QF-106A target drone. Tyndall and Eglin AFBs were key testing sites for major USAF missile and radar experiments, something that would be continued by West Florida in the long run. In the early days, West Florida used smaller drone units for arms training, however, they required full-sized units later on for indigenous experimental testing with radar and missiles. One such experiment is shown here with the testing of the Python 5 missile against a QF-106 in 2014, marking the last time a QF-106 was utilized in experiments, being replaced by the QF-4 and better-developed targeting drones.
