I don't know about technical issues raised by Acelanceloet, but they look great.

Hi Heuhen,
It looks very nice, but isn't that anchor a little low?

the only thing for placing anchor high up, is so it's closer to anchor handling equipment. But it's more that one started it and suddenly everybody do it... thus you have it going. there is also that the anchor have to get a good place, compared to the hull.
But I have seen ships having them mounted at the waterline, just to get the hull above waterline clean for things.
But from designer perspective, it is about what look good, what look best on the ship, having mounted high up or low down. from an engineer standpoint, how can you store the anchor best and easy.
Re: Harm Mk.... something!
Like the new ship, but would you need 3 5' guns ? why not swap the B gun for more missiles ? a second Sea Sparrow or SSMs or ASROC ?
(or AA/CIWS guns ?)

Re: Harm Mk.... something!
If I were getting rid of a gun I'd get rid of A and replace wit with some spray guards to protect the Mk.26 Even if you've got six miles of freeboard some waves are going to come over that thing... I also laught at your comically large flight pad D: Poor lynx looks lost on there.

She is one version of many. I posted this just to get ideas from you boys. I think I going to have three version of here.JSB wrote:Like the new ship, but would you need 3 5' guns ? why not swap the B gun for more missiles ? a second Sea Sparrow or SSMs or ASROC ?

- This one (drawing) here that would be more an multi role vessel with a little more conventional firepower toward invasion fleet fire support.
- Then we will have the more ASW version... so you can think about what is going to replace the forward 5"
- The third one is an AAW Escort. this include that the B gun is replaced by either a smaller caliber gun or CIWS and an increase of missile carrying capacity.
- I am thinking about an third version that would be an command vessel.
I wasn't sure if I was going to need it, but since it going to operate with an task force, and are thus a big chance for it have to operate in quit interesting weather!Blackbuck wrote:If I were getting rid of a gun I'd get rid of A and replace wit with some spray guards to protect the Mk.26 Even if you've got six miles of freeboard some waves are going to come over that thing... When I started the design of her I designed her for an more larger and heavy helicopter. but at one point I come to an conclusion, what do an fire support ship need, lynx that can come in an give air to ground fire support but also some ASW protection, but have an hello deck capable to handle helicopters like a real big helicopter transporting special forces or similar...
But I agree the lynx looks like it got lost at some point, and can't find it's dad or mom. (I can see for me the pilot when landing in thick fog: "can't see a thing, well I just land here then. Oh I landed on the helo deck, nice!")

It looks really nice, your eye for good designs is always on rigth spot. Only thing that wonders me is that after allmost everything else is invented, why there still are real world missiles and radars in Haram ships?

it's like Norway, there are missiles and radars everywhere in the world, but we still produce our own missile, ammunition and sensor's equipment, even several radar parts.
But I agree with you Haram some are that big should have it's own systems, and since the ship sin't finish yet...
