does it belong in never build designs when about a quarter of the drawings are real designs? that is why it was in general discussion to begin with...........??

Well I'd say its more than half which are never-where's of the drawings posted in it sofar. But yeas I see your logic as the thread is supposed to present the whole development of the class (If I understood it correctly). However it deserves to be in the actual drawing forums, not in the general discussion forum but like mentioned, sofar the ratio of never-wheres wins the real designs.

And in the end it doesen't matter where it is, as long as it is. Like I said its a great thread and great deal of work you have do for it.

Nice work on this series Ace.
I agree it needs to live somewhere, it just always seemed lost and in danger of being overlooked in the general discussion area.

Any plans for rendering Commander R. Ghiradella's Air-Capable Spruance design from the July, 1978 edition of the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings? Incredible and informative work so far.

plans? yes. but only at the end of the project, as those are both the furthest away in design from the basic DX. the DX, spruance modifications and tico design line are first, in any case ;)

I'm not sure why I'm credited on any of these drawings - I think I drew the original underwater hull, but from what I can tell, it's been modified so much that my original is almost indistinguishable. At any rate, I don't need to be credited for something as easy to draw as an old-style UW hull. ;)

you are credited on one drawing, colo.... one I did not alter the credits from Scifibugs drawing. you earlier made that point already and thus your credit is removed from all other ships in project DX. I will remove you the moment I load up that drawing in the editor again, but for now it is more important to get other stuff done first ;)

the Spruances got a new life raft set and placement between 1980 and 1984 roughly (varies per ship) so this is rectified in the real design Spruances. slowly moving forward........
