Sweet...I updated my IJA-IJN plane sheet to show your E8N. Just out of curiosity, what's going to be the deciding factor on whether or not you draw a 1937 version of Chokai?

E8N for sure (the two in the background), the other one looks more like an E7K.
and thanks Emperor for the pic, meanwhile i fount a couple of others, so a 1937/38 Chokai will come almost for sure.

Ahhhh that engine fool me ... you right, this is E7K1 with Hiro Type 91 inline.

Chokai as of 1937:
AA armament composed of quadruple Hotchkiss 13mm machine guns abaft the funnels wich replaced the single 40mm manufactured by vickers originally fitted, airwing composed by 2 Nakajima E8N and one Kawanishi E7K; 6 directors (3 on each side) removed around the bridge area.
Bezo feel free to tell me if there are parts that looks different compared to your references
