Re: Submarines
DP the master of submarines
please note that USS Darter SS-576 was already done by me
None the less I like your ship as well. Incredible Japanese I-52 and US SS-125

Re: Submarines
Damn DP, you CRAZY with all those subs!
To not fall completely off the radar, one I did with permission from Crazyhorse, using parts of his old drawing, the Vanguard:
Edit: Completely redid the shading on the Astute to fall more in line with the other submarines:

Re: Submarines
Lot of work there. Finding references for those Boomers is HARD. I was lucky to find a sideview drawing from a model kit and a color photograph from her rollout, which told me just which details in the drawing were the red-lined floodgates. And there are some nice photos from model kits, but finding details for the submerged part is difficult...MitcheLL300 wrote:Damm nice one Miho
Also, check out the incredible size difference between Astute and Vanguard. And yet they carry the same reactor.

I assume nuclear missiles eat a lot of space?

Re: Submarines
Those yellow objects are IIRC the vents that open to let air flow out of the ballast tanks, so that water can enter though the red lined floodgates at the bottom of the ship. The Trafalgar has them too, and on the Astute they're all topside, so you don't see them from the side.MitcheLL300 wrote:I assume nuclear missiles eat a lot of space?
