Still not going to work, you might want to have the engines in a separate pod and the main gondola should be a third of the length currently

Barnest and APDAF.Just a few suggestions.Maybe if you are going for an Empire/political union instead of an alliance, consider standardising your guns,directors etc.I would use German guns which used the built up method of constuction rather than the British wire bound.Less wear and droop on sustained firing,better shells etc.Read Castles of Steel by Robert K Massie.Essential reading for this era of naval warfare

With this early period, I'm really experimenting by hacking together ships and seeing how they come out. I've never drawn a dreadnought before

No that is H-45 guns the H-44 are 20 inch.

even then, those are huge. no ships with guns that size have ever been build. I myself am working on an battlecruiser concept that used them, but that one didn't even come close to being build.

The Yamato class used 18.1 inch guns that they planed one with 20 inch guns.
