'09 Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness trip #1, starting portage. Food pack nicely balances main pack. Unfortunately, you are then hiking over broken ground without being able to see your feet.

I think the colour is called burnished, but yeah, you're right.
It's the same colour scheme the RDN used during peace time in the 1870ies, when the original George Stage was build. (This one is the second. The original is now named Josef Conrad and is permanently moored in Mystic Seaport)
