Is it just me or does it seem a bit "stubby"? I'd like to see it with a longer, finer hull myself.

On your BB, which, btw, looks pretty cool to me, I'd replace the uppermost, third whaler with a smaller barcasse or similar. also, a ship of that size/era, would surely carry, at least two, if not four or five motorboats of different types! And I can see space for such items too!

Actually, it is exactly the same size as the Colorado class. As for a longer version of this class, you'll have to wait on that as the follow-up class to this, the "Stella Maris" class, is a bit longer, which I haven't really gotten much beyond the hull and basic upperworks yet.

Do you mean aft, on either side of the spotting top mast? Also, there are smaller boats between the funnels which you could see from a top view but not so much from the side. But, I can see your point about mixing the selection of boats up a bit more.

Not in 1920. This is the "as built" design. Catapults come later. (That and I just don't like the looks, or the concept behind, mounting catapults on turrets and gun barrels.)

How about flying-of platforms? You already have a pair of carriers built specifically for observation, so the utility of areal observation should be obvious to your naval planners.

Maybe. I'll have to think about that.

hnh... there is the distinct possibility that the hard drive I have, well, everything stored on has just died.

Ouch. I hope that you are able to recover your work.

I am sorry that I don't comment in this thread as much as I should.

Hopefully I can find out something tomorrow. If not, well, I did say I wanted to redo my navy from scratch, but this isn't quite what I had in mind though. At least I still have the stuff I posted here. Unfortunately, another CV, 3 BB, 3 CA, 5 DD plus a four real designs (USS Georgia BB-15 was damn near finished *grumble*) are most likely lost.
