I would hesitate to call that a bow mount - it's aft of the forward most waterline point. It almost looks like it's in the same relative position as the 8" mount on the late 1974 version of the CSGN.

yeah, in a quick look it seems to be aft of the fore peak bulkhead, so allowed by rules and regulations.

Well, I've seen a lot of things but I've never seen someone copy a gun in over the ship's superstructure...
I sincerely hope those weird grey patches are computerized termites eating away at the ship...

I doubt the guy who fitted the gun was the original designer, the rest of the weapons were fitted correctly but the gun sticks out.
