10 machines in MG armed version had been ordered and if I remember correctly, almost delivered. Japan force the Vichy to confiscate them in Indochina en route to China.

That's two separates orders : 10 from China (in 1938), called Renault UE "Chine" and an order of the "minister des colonies" for Renault UE2 sent in the French Indochina.
Among the regular UE2 serving in the colonial forces there between five and eight have been localy modified with a casemate and a 7,5mm FM 24/29 to act as an armed vehicle against the Kingdom of Siam.
The mistake is always made between the "Export China" variant and the "Indochina" makeshift conversion.
