Dornier Do 317A/217R

Due the poor perfomances of Do 317 V1 and the delays of the DB 604 and Jumo 222 multibank engines, the Dornier 317 program was cancelled and five prototypes were finished without pressure cabin. The five Do 317 A was now denominate Do 217Rand send to the III/KG100 for trials of the Hs 293 glide bomb.

The sole drawing of Hs 293 (by Radome) isn’t accessible and I redraw the missile. If there is another author I will recognize it in the drawing.

Nicely drawn, but an astoundingly ungainly aircraft!

The rendering of the air-cooled machine gun barrels is interesting. I haven't seen that technique before.

Nice work.

Erik_T, I think DP or nighthunter began using MG barrels like that some time ago. I still can't decide if I like them or a black-dark grey 2px line instead.

It was DP, I copied him.

Color me biased but I like the Gray/Black.

Anywho, real reason for me being here, the Polikarpov I-3:

Actually a surprisingly elegant aircraft for its era and country of origin.

i like that barrel thecnique very much. the double black lines is always compromise, and if we can alter out of it logically, its always best

Also good looking planes guys.

Some beautiful work there, guys. I agree that the Dornier is far from the most aesthetically pleasing design, but the drawings of it are great.
Hey, it's gotta be 5 o'clock somewhere...

Currently working on:
The October War, 27-10-1962 (apparently forever);
"Saxonverse" alt-UK;
Federation of the Channel Islands AU;
Republic of Yopur & Andaman;
some sort of overarching AU;

Good evening, guys.
Probably, not the most aesthetically nice aircraft, but was (or is) a reliable, sturdy and useful COIN platform: North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco.

Shown in american (Marines), venezuelan and thai camo schemes. Cheers.
