Here is an aircraft that I drew up as fanart for the video game "Foxhole"
Sorry for the overcrowded credits: thanks to Imperialist for the Exhaust, thanks to Demon Lord Razgriz OR nighthunter for some of the mustang parts I incorporated (I cannot figure out who did the part I incorporated), and thanks to RobotSpark on Discord for the roundel design.

A book on the F-CK-1 I that have states that one of the potential adversary aircraft the Ching-Kuo was designed in mind is the F-16A, a possibility enabled due to "Sino-Soviet Split". I played with the idea a bit, figuring that the US might have also sent some export ordnance, to be replaced by indigenous ones later (in this example, the AIM-9Ps replaced by the PL-5s):

Image

Then one day I was browsing F-16 online and saw this.

It offends my sensibility as a Nationalist Chinese government loyalist. A fellow member from a what-if forum then came up with the idea of a Spey-powered F-16 derivative, so I ran with it to neutralize the image inflicted upon my mind by the above link:

Re-posting my first forays into proper FD scale graphs for completeness. I am still rather proud of the F-16/79 one as the aircraft does have a special place in my heart.

It's difficult to say precisely when Yugoslavia was truly excommunicated by the members of the Warsaw Pact, some say it was when Andropov's private comments of them being "Fake Communists" and "Bourgeoisie traitors" were leaked to the western press in late '84, others say it was when President Džemal Bijedić made a surprise visit to the 1985 Brussels summit. Still others say it was when Yugoslavia participated in the NATO Exercise DISPLAY DETERMINATION '85, just before the War. However, the second that aviation analysts saw French-built Mirage fighters (adorned with Coke ads no less!) soaring over the opening ceremony of the 1984 Winter Olympics, they knew the Yugoslavs had, unfortunately for them it turned out, picked their side.

Yugoslavia (AU), Mirage F1CY/EY

An idea that a western-leaning Yugoslavia would buy Mirages instead of Mig-29s, partially financed by Coca-Cola (hence the branding).
Any comments or criticisms welcome!

Nice! Reminds me that I really ought to revisit the AU stuff I was doing around Romania and Yugoslavia...
Hey, it's gotta be 5 o'clock somewhere...

Currently working on:
The October War, 27-10-1962 (apparently forever);
"Saxonverse" alt-UK;
Federation of the Channel Islands AU;
Republic of Yopur & Andaman;
some sort of overarching AU;

Regaining my sanity.

In fact, there was strong idea in Yugoslavia to buy Mirages instead MiG-29s, but the Fulcrums were offered as clearing dept of USSR to Yugoslavia together with purchase of trains, trolleybuses etc. Nice drawing :D
