Going back over some older drawings I decided the HAe Tempest needed a rework. Below are the new and more in-depth drawings with new cockpits, larger tails, modified wings and a new nose section:
The Tempest initially equips two fighter wings and one strike wing within the RRAF, however only one of the fighter wings receives the newer model (still to come) and the other wing converts to the HAe Fury (along with most of the Fleet Air Arm).
Looking further into the future the remaining Tempest fighter wing will convert to the new HAe Firebolt, while the strike wing will re-equip with enhanced Tempests (with Super Hornet type modifications).
Hopefully to come at some stage will be the above mentioned later variants and some export schemes.

When Recherche involved in Afghanistan? HLK was there for nine years, RHAF 112th Squadron with C-130M and VC.10 were regualar visitors in north east Afghanistan for supplies transport.
The Tempest is a real competitor to F-15, nice design!

Excellent as always Rowdy. I always felt the Tempest managed to blend the looks of the F-15, F-14, and F/A-18 into one beauty of a plane.

Thanks guys!
I haven't given much thought to how much Recherche commits to conflicts and for how long, but I would imagine Recherche would maintain a significant presence in Afghanistan from the beginning through to perhaps late 2013 or early 2014.
