Looks like someone photoshopped my Alaska. Are they from the closed altnavy site?
In an AU, it could have been a predecessor to the Lexington BCs.

As I said, I did them myself for a USN fast battlecruiser design.

Sorry, I didn't realize that. I like those Photoshops very much, they look very realistic.

I agree the aft of the early Alaskas is mid 40s style. Should be revised, too. Oh, and yes, I know how the above looks now. Would you believe, it was derivated from the first 20s Alaska drawing?
I believe the radar fit here is far too modern for 1935. Also, the midline 5"/38 is (like erik_t said) untenable. If anything, remove the aircraft-handling cranes and replace them with a 5"/38 mount. Not really sure why Midnightnova is credited in that drawing either.

The correct radar fit for 1935 would be zero. CXAM didn't go to sea until 1940.

If you follow the threads past you will recognize, the drawing is obsolete.
Here comes the corrected 1920s Alaska in 1945s refit:
Now with fitting bow and stern. The old fashioned 12" turrets are obviously smaller than the original ones. Must have been hell to work in them. They are taken from Redhorses BB-26 South Carolina and refined.
After looking some minutes at the drawing, I think the fore 5"-turret would be removed later replaced by some Bofors 40mm.
Edit: I still have overseen the aircraft crane...

I think the superstructure has been far too "crammed together". The funnel is far too close to the citadel.
Interesting redraw, though.

Funnel slightly revised, aircraft crane removed, boat crane added, some minor details.

I think we've got a winner!
P.S. I think they should be called something other than the "Alaska"-Class. Maybe "Virginia" would work a bit better?
