A disaster! Launched trying to offset costs, attempting to use two old freighter hulls, and combine 6 non turret mounted 15 inch guns. The design would have attempted to sail close to the shore and keep the 6 guns pointed seaward the ammunition barge - conning tower ship moored shore side, protected with the heavy armor of the mid section. The guns could be retracted back during heavy weather. Unfortunately sea trials resulted in a warped and leaky hull, as well as a complete loss when she attempted a full broadside, keeling over and sending the Ammunition barge down with her. Terrible disaster XD.

You are certainly thinking outside of the box.

I'm thinking the next version will be a battle barge, where the armaments are all mounted on an armored barge, and it is pushed along by a large tug. Maybe even slip the tonnage up because its two boats XD

Long time lurker, this is my first attempt at a SB drawing. Its a kitbash, my skills are not good enough yet to draw from scratch.
The ship is a 1920's design ready for completion 1924-25
Ha ha!! Success. Easy if you have a partner with the old dropbox on her computer with the Public folder.
I've edited out all of the problems with getting things to work. Thanks to Karle for your prompt reply to my cry for help.

You know when you think you have a good idea and then site down and realise it isn't
.
What the Dutch should build.
http://www.shipbucket.com/images.php?di ... chland.gif
They can even swap the engines for steam and get more speed for less range, so they can run from anything they cant kill.
I will have to go think more/harder.
