Hmmm...ok, well the 4.7in issue is easily fixed.

I'll give the machinery arrangement some thought - I drew it a few months ago actually so I can't actually remember the reasoning behind the single funnel...but you are right it is an early 1930's design, drawn completely from scratch - no cutting away.

The Twilight class sloop, commisioned from 1934 onwards (though the drawing depicts the class in 1939):

Initially conceived as a cheap class of vessels for gunboat diplomacy and surveying, the design that eventually became the Twilight class sloops grew in capability to encompass convoy escort, coastal defence and anti-submarine warfare. The increased size of the resulting vessels compared to the original specifications became advantageous during World War II when they were used in both the Mediterranean and Pacific theatres with great success.

They were constantly deployed in high intensity areas and during the course of the war HMR Ships Arid and Orleans were lost resupplying Tobruk while HMRS Thistle was lost during the evacuation of Singapore. Their utility resulted in them being highly sought after in the desperate early days of the war, and they continued to operate post war stripped of their armament surveying the still largely uncharted waters around Recherche.

Seconded. No monster battleships :P And yes, logically thought out projects with good background - should be more like this.

Can't believe I missed this thread, I agree with Colo, one of the best. Now I'm in the mood to finish the Ballarat and start back on my AU!
Work list(Current)
Miscellaneous|Victorian Colonial Navy|Murray Riverboats|Colony of Victoria AU|Project Sail-fixing SB's sail shortage
How to mentally pronounce my usernameRow-(as in a boat)Don-(as in the short form of Donald)Dough-(bread)
"Loitering on the High Seas" (Named after the good ship Rodondo)

There's no such thing as "nothing left to draw" If you can down 10 pints and draw, you're doing alright by my standards
