I did something similar, only I made sure that the F6F-5Ns and F6F-5Ps were drawn correctly:

you should put some camo like a sea blue and maybe gray ;)

Actually, there's were quite a few schemes for the Essex class.
β€œClose” only counts with horseshoes, hand grenades, and tactical nuclear weapons.
That which does not kill me has made a grave tactical error

I've got a nitpick of my own. The Mk 38 directors shouldn't have the Mk 25 radar during World War II, by the point the ship being depicted was commissioned the directors were using the Mk 4/22 combination (at least, I think it's Mk 4/22)...
