Re: FD Aircraft 20
Dewoitine D.371, a parasol wing fighter with radial engine, was among the first french aircraft (alognside to Lire 46 figthers and Potez 540 bombers) sold to the Spanish Republic in the critic first months of the Spanish Civil War, and flown by foreign volunteers (mainly French and Italian) and mercenaries hired by André Malraux to form the Spanish Squadron ("Escuadrilla España").
Cheers.

Re: FD Aircraft 20
The german aid was pivotal for the francoist victory during the Spanish Civil War. Among the german aircraft used by the Rebel forces was the parasol winged Heinkel H-46, an useful army cooperation aircraft, observation, and light bomber, a model being replaced in the Luftwaffe by the more capable Henschel Hs-126. Locally known as "Pava", He-46 solderied well until the end of the war and beyond.
Hungary also bougth a sligthly modified version (with NACA nose cowling and a pair of nose mounted syncronised mg):
Cheers.

Re: FD Aircraft 20
Good evening, guys.
From WWI to the first third of the 1930s, Morane Saulnier had a winning formula: radial (or rotary) engine and parasol wing for fighters and training aircraft: MS 3 (1914), MS 21 (1916), MS 29 (1917), MS 130 (1925), MS 147 (1928), MS 180 (1929), MS 225 (1932), MS 230 (1930), MS 235 (1932) and MS 343 (1933). The last fighters with these two features were the MS 225 (AdA) and MS 226 Aeronavale) from 1932 to 1934 (MS 226 bis, with folding wings).
Cheers.

Re: FD Aircraft 20
One of the most important aircraft of the nazi Germany aid to the francoist air force was the acrobatic trainer Bucker 133 Jungmeister. Made under license by CASA, was the standard trainer of the EdA until the late 1960s.
A rather obscure aircraft that arrived with the german aid was the useful liaison monoplane Klemm 32A. The model was used in Spain until the late 1940s.
Cheers.

Re: FD Aircraft 20
A very interesting german interwar design was the Junkers monoplane Ju-46, a seaplane that was launched from compressed air catapults (instaled in the ocean liners SS Bremen and SS Europa). Two were built, one asigned to each ship.
Re: FD Aircraft 20
Potez 33 was the military version of Potez 32 light transport. In the earlies 1930s, 12 aircraft were bougth by Belgium and used both as liaison/observation and training airplanes. The aircraft was equiped with a dorsal ring for a mg, and was able to drop light bombs from fuselage racks.

A few F-35s, yes I'm aware they're an outdated template, but something is better than nothing!
It's not about "Why," it's about "Why not?"
