In this AU, the history of the Ise-class is a tad different, so I'll give you a few details.

The history of the Ise-class is pretty much the same up to 5 May 1942. On that date, Hyuga's left gun breech in No. 5 turret blows up. Despite desperate attempts to flood the aft magazines, a flash fire courses down into the No. 5 magazine from the turret above and ignites some powder bags ready for use in the day's gunnery practice. The ensuing explosion blasts Hyuga apart, sinking her with over 700 dead. By some miracle, ComBatDiv 12 is among those pulled from the water, and he makes Ise his new flagship. In October 1944, Ise has been reassigned to BatDiv 11 with two other 'loners': Tosa (Kaga was sunk at Midway) and Nagato (Mutsu's fate was the same). All three sailed with VADM Nishimura Shoji's force into Surigao Strait (Fuso and Yamashiro had been sunk back in July 1944 on a suicide mission to relieve Saipan), and both Tosa and Ise succumbed to massive gunfire from RADM Oldendorf's task group. Nagato, at the rear of the column, turned and beat a retreat back up the strait, damaged but still seaworthy. She and destroyer Shigure joined up with VADM Shima's force and successfully managed to escape back to Brunei. Nagato would be the oldest of the pre-war IJN BBs and BCs to survive the war.

This is based on a design that someone drew up for an AU timeline I'm following on another forum.

Image

Impressive cruiser/battlecruiser, but the armament listed doesn't match the drawing, as the drawing shows casement guns, which the list of armament doesn't mention, or have I missed something?
