an early apar would be an bad idea, because this is clearly no air defence ship
but thanks. the ECM and some other systems will come from the LCF, indeed, as will be the CIC techs. I'm glad you like it

ok then. but please refrain from commenting on it then, I know it isn't perfect, but it is just an background for my book to have some sort of ww2 scale battles in this time era, so I can 'experiment' with the people who are in it.
and I know they developed very fast, faster then would be logical, but they do this with foreign help, and these ships are exactly what they started with: nothing near perfect, but they set the standard for future ships

Nice, but I would remove the 76mm guns and stick with Dardo 40mm and the 127mm gun only.

Err? WM-22 plus Smart-S?
Two times the same thing... Why?
Please change for a second stir...
And add 2 extra pixels of space below smart s. It has a long interface and servo motor plus hydraulic system plus the interface between hydraulic cabinet to the brake.
Maby also add esm and ecm. Cant find those on my mobile. So ignore it if they are there.

it is not the same thing, although their tasks overlap. mainly placed in board so the STIR's AND the SMART-S would have an backup, and to not overload it with STIR's. will fix the SMART-S. ECM is on board, same system as the LCF and the doorman, mirador's if I recall it correctly... also that mast behind the smart-s.....

may I ask why?
it would make this ship an destroyer, only armed with CIWS, 1 gun and a point defence missile system..... I added those to make it really an 'modern times gun cruiser'.

Wait? You say Apar is only for air defence specific ?
Meh....
Then You got it wrong. It also can direct surface missiles and cruise missiles.
Plus it is an awesome surface track and search radar.
It is an FCS. Air/surface search and track radar.
I thought you said you knew more about radars and weapons?

Eh wrong.
LW-08 Can backup for smart-S , add the iff and you got a backup 3D radar.
An wm-22 plus smart s causes issues in data handeling.
So remove it. And add a stir for your guns.
Its better if you got so much guns. And missiles.
Also add 2x Tds on each side. For 4 stirs.
Whut since when is mirador an esm/ecm?
Its APAR or that stupid lcf look a like wich breaks down at startup. Yes i dont know its name, because i refuse to remember i quess:-P

no. I don't say it is ONLY an air radar.
BUT it is designed for air defence ships. it is quite expensive and heavy as well. it is powerful enough to direct standard missiles.....
are you seeing that thing on this ship? it's power would be wasted on a ship with only sea sparrows. this ship would have SEAPAR as it's max. and because of the 'looks' of this ship, and the idea to build rather cheap and fast, I decided to go with the slightly older equipment of the karel doorman class.
and ok, I will put an extra STIR on it instead.... what is that TDS?
ADD: sorry, the mirador was wrong... I ment the APECS II

Sabre is lcf ecm. Meh
Tds is target designation sight.
The smart s directs the stirs to the target. But what if it breaks down?.
Then you use a Tds to direct the stir towards the area of the target.
And the stir does the rest.
Apar isnt designed for air defence. Its a multi radar. Like smart s.
And take also some HF/UHF equipment. Like hk-014 and hk 268 or something. Maby add for standart an 20mm in the midship. One that doesnt get dequiped into a box.
I know it aint finished. Just saying

what does that tds look like? I can't find it on other drawings...
and whatever it is. the apecs is some system for electronic warfare, that is on the LCF and on your ship as well..... or a system that looks a lot like it.
and APAR on an ship like this is like AEGIS on an perry. it is possible, it would do it's work, but would it be worth the effort?
and for your last points: indeed, it isn't finished. I am currently just defining all that should be on it. it will be weeks before I finish this one.
