Re: Mister Hoover's Navy
I'm in the throes of revision, so here goes nothing...
You cannot have everything. The WNT disallows the South Dakotas.
And the AU Standards are not exactly the RTL Standards.
Remember this is a WIP. It is intended for advice for improvement.

Re: Mister Hoover's Navy
Wire guidance is not possible before 1950. It has something to do with flexible light weight insulators and wire strength. The whale hull sub with the disappearing deck gun is actually historical for the USN and not only historical but decidedly so, since American design trends before they were sidelined by the German U-cruiser chimera was for the submerged torpedo ambush attack in the RTL with coast defense subs.
Deck gun shown here:
(US Navy recog chart)
Refer to Mister McKinley's Navy for the AU attack on Cadiz to see what this portends.

Re: Mister Hoover's Navy
Suggestion: try using the USN parts sheet if you are drawing USN ships? It'll help you learn and will make your drawings easier to make quickly.

Re: Mister Hoover's Navy
The submarines look great, but the turrets on the BBs, CAs, and some of the DDs/Frigates look like they are just a little too rounded out.
also some/some more hull shading would make them look better
just my two cents

What I like to work on/plan to work on:
US ship Proposals and prototypes
Other ships that haven't yet been put up on Ship bucket
Suggestions Welcomed
Currently working on:
Heavy Cruiser Proposal CA-B: ~80% done.
Heavy Cruiser Proposal CA-C: ~5-10% done.
Heavy/Large Cruiser Proposal CA2-D: ~35% done.
FD Scale P-51A Dazzle Camo Livery: ~5-10% done.
Getting better: Always being worked on.
Finished:
FD Scale P-51D's Dazzle Camo Livery (might be redone)
FD Scale P-51D's German Captured Livery

Re: Mister Hoover's Navy
Hi Tobius: In your BBs the hull hatches are over the belt, making 2 weak points in it. Cheers.
Re: Mister Hoover's Navy
Yes they are. I'm still debating removing the Jacobs Ladders from everything in the next revision. But right now I'm working on a revised parts sheet.

Re: Mister Hoover's Navy
the ships look like they would look top heavy to me, i would suggest if you don't want to change the shape, raise the water line a little

Look at examples of Japanese and British interwar cruisers and destroyers and at American classes of the same and compare tophamper to the Plimsoll mark.
Especially the Atlantas.
