Alright, I'm gonna start off small this time

.

I based this mainly on the Evarts class DE but took some inspiration from the Hunt Class Destroyer
Destroyer Escort, 1941-1942, 10 ships
Built by: East Haven Federal Shipyard
Length: 285' 6"
Beam: 34' 6"
Draught: 10'
Displacement: 1320 short tons
Speed: 19kts
Range: 4300nm
Armament:
3 x 3 inch/50 guns
7 x 20mm Oerlikon guns
1 x Quad 40mm Bofors gun
5 x tubes for 21" torpedoes
Up to 150 depth charges. 2 rails and 4 K-throwers.
Hedgehog ASW, fitted on last 4 ships and later refitted to first 6 ships (replacing earlier ASW).

Well it's certainly pleasant looking and a feasible arrangement but there are a couple of niggles.
- Torpedoes on a DE / Frigate make no sense whatsoever.
- You could probably improve on the single 40mm slightly maybe up-to two twins.
- Why no hedgehog or squid?
Other than that it looks good to me.

Nice design, but indeed adding something like Hedgehog and more 40mm could be a rather good idea.

It is 1941 not 45, I think 6x 20mm and 1x 40mm is ok for the date, same for no hedgehog etc ?

Thank you for the compliments!
-I saw torpedoes on a Hunt Class escort destroyer, so that's where I got the idea from. The Cannon class escort destroyer also has torpedoes.
-Hedgehog wasn't around in 1941 and I'm not sure when it entered service in 1942. Plus, I have no idea where to put it. Every ship that I looked at had the hedgehog listed in the specs, but I could never figure out where they were on the drawing.
-In the ships I looked at, the Captain class frigate, Evarts class destroyer, and the Cannon class destroyer all had 1 twin 40mm mount (although mine only has a single 40mm gun). The 20mm Oerlikons also act as AA guns.

-The hunts were able to go a good deal faster than 19 knots however. (The cannons are somewhat of an oddball amongst all the other DE classes IMO for having a single triple mount)
-A or B position for the hedgehog IIRC (a)
-Yeah, one single mount, not a twin hence my saying maybe improve on it
(a) There were various ahead firing ASW weapons that preceded hedgehog in the interwar years so you wouldn't necessarily have to have hedgehog from the get go. Maybe have an unsuccessful design of ASW weapon replaced by something like hedgehog or squid as time passes?

While I concur with the comments on the ahead-throwing ASW armaments (there is also a newer 3"/50 gun drawing available that you may find in a few ships like in WhyMe's USN AM-55/-56/-57 minesweepers in the archive and in Superboy's PF-103s), interesting DE design.

Edited above post.
-Replaced the single 40mm and went all out with a quad 40mm (might as well go all out, eh?).
-Replaced the old 3"/50 with properly scaled gun
-Added a box in front of main turret, which represents earlier ASW weapon and later Hedgehog. (It was the only place I could think of to put it).
I hope that solves most everything. I'm glad I made the decision to keep things small. Seems like I get more feedback for smaller ships

.
Thanks for all the helpful comments!

After seeing Redhorse's Fleet presentations, I thought it might be interesting to do something like that as well for Denton. The first year that I will be doing is 1916, just before Denton's entrance into WWI. My only problem is that all of my ships are drawn in the 'as built' configuration, meaning I have to modify a few of them. Primarily I will be modifying the the Innsbruck and the Saarbrucken (based on BB7 Illinois and BB5 Kearsarge), which will include adding lattice masts (which was standard for Denton ships of the time). I only have one question concerning this and that is: where do I put them? Forward or Aft? Or should I put in both masts as a lattice mast?
Both Masts
Rear Mast
Forward Mast
Any help would be appreciated.
