Re: Great Britain - AU
I would stick with the old ones.
Re: Great Britain - AU
There were no big gun directors after WW2. The only pure surface fire director was the one used by the original HMS Vanguard, and was also used by HMS Belfast. These directors had Type 274 gunnery radar on top and IIRC some ships had Type 932 splash-spotting radar attached to Type 274. I don't know if HMS Vanguard had it though (and anyway it would be too small in SB scale to be spotted).

Ok some changes to it. Using 4 directors for 4 launchers. Switching to 3 Phalanx (I think its ok) Looking at some good coverage there maybe not 360 but close. Am I close?

Actually Novice.
You can have a deep in Bridge, so it didnt had to be higher at all.
The Danish uses this, their bridge windows are high, and their seats also.
But the rest is deep in, so that nobody hits his head

Re: Great Britain - AU
wonder if the main gun directors should be replaced by something like sea archer? coupled with a laser rangefinder might be more accurate/faster. Space could be used for Sea Wolf trackers

Re: Great Britain - AU
You don't need a faster director for those 15" guns the rate of fire being around 2 shells per minute per barrel. Also is the lazer rangefinder can give you ranges at 22 miles?rifleman wrote:wonder if the main gun directors should be replaced by something like sea archer? coupled with a laser rangefinder might be more accurate/faster.
