I couldn't recall if Iceland was in the EU or not but most of Europe is in the same shape as the US. We are just the worst. Japan and South Korea have problems too. Japan has been in a long recession before the earthquake and that just made things worse.

And here's Canada sitting prime and happy and in a full economic recovery.
