It helped immensely, that I had excellent reference material* and waaay too much time on my hands during lockdown.

(* for those who are interested: Kageros "Super drawings in 3d - the Battleship Scharnhorst" and Ospreys brand new "Anatomy of the ship -the Battleship Scharnhorst" - highly recommended, esp. if you are into modelling!)

Excellent work. The overhead work is inspiring. It is so difficult to match up side and overhead view.
