Neo-Terran Empire designs
Here is the Hel class battleship of the Neo-Terran Empire.
First commissioned in 2543, 30 years since the end of the Great Purge the Neo-Terran Empire needed a vessel that could protect it's borders from the hostile aliens to the galactic north Nu-Terra.
It has 120 50mm rail guns mounted on broadside facing fixed mounts, the CIWS is provided by a laser system mounted on the sides of the ship.
It can carry 2 Valkyrie fighters or 4 stormbird boarding vessels.
Power is provided by two fusion reactors as well as nuclear batteries.
It have Artificial Gravity plating provided by stolen Xi'sana technology.
FTL is given by the Quantum field generator.
P.s. it is in top view wip currently.

Re: Neo-Terran Empire designs
All those large bridge windows are going to make fun targegs for some enemy gunners, and you're tureets will suffer from poor firing arcs if you keep them so close together.

Yeah, I agree with Raxar. Those windows are going to do more harm then good, no matter what excuse you come up with.

Re: Neo-Terran Empire designs
Well it depends if you're designing a space ship to real physics standards or movie standards.
It's actually pretty decent to movie standards.

Re: Neo-Terran Empire designs
Movie standards goes up in last decade. This is in ... early 70' style.

Re: Neo-Terran Empire designs
The bridge windows are made from a form of Quartz which makes it almost as strong as the surrounding metal plating, plus during combat blast doors close which covers the windows.
At the range at which combat occurs turret arcs are not an issue as you only need to rotate arc minutes at worst or you are so close that it does no matter anyway.
The physics should be at least believable to within the realm of possible but no well known physics.

That's doesn't make any senseAPDAF wrote:The physics should be at least believable to within the realm of possible but no well know physics.

Re: Neo-Terran Empire designs
Basically it should be a lot more realistic than Star Wars and Star Trek.
Re: Neo-Terran Empire designs
Star Wars and Star trek aren't really more realistic...

SW and ST is quintessence of technobabble so crossbar is rly low. And even with that your "ideas" doesn't make any sense.
