Also: When you get to the 1970s, I hereby nominate the name George Ballas for one of the destroyers. (If you name DDs after famous people, that is.) A native of Houston, he invented the weedeater in 1971. :)

I don't comment often here; and really, no need - this topic has to be one of the best on the forum: sensibly thought out, historically realistic, and excellent designs, it doesn't get much better than this :D

Alaskan Protectorate send it's one of first Fantôme in special livery to San Antonio air base in Texas. There in day of establishment of Texas Air Force airshow fighter represents Alaskan Air Corp.

With dedication for Red' and his wonderful Republic of Texas! :D

Very nice. Thank you very much. That's a great color scheme, and we were happy to host that aircrew in 1936.

If I were naming destroyers after famous Texans, I could also go for Dwight David Eisenhower (born in Denison, TX), Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tommy Lee Jones, and Chuck Norris.
