Pointless weapon is pointless, you'd get the same degree of destruction (as after a few tons of TNT it gets a bit arbitrary) from a,say, 10 ton HE bomb with a ground piercing nose, plus it'd be cheaper and you could do it with more than one bomber

Well considering that the original was blow up after it was ransacked in 1704 and then the church escaped to Africa and rebuilt it in what would we call Lagos but because Lagos was small town at the time they made it a lot bigger.

Africa is a lot closer to Europe than south America and the Imperial Britannian Navy would have sunk the escaping fleet if it broke out of the Mediterranean.

How is it that this "Almighty Britanian Navy" doesn't just go into the Mediterranian Sea then and sink them? The British and Germans both had significant operations there before and during WWII, so having a fleet there doesn't seem out of the realm of possliblity, especially given that according to you their only enemy in the area is no threat.

Because they escaped in the very early 18th century and the both the Imperial Britannian Navy and the then Holy Papal Navy where engaged off the coast of Spain and south America and they where equally matched.

So they are capable of building a line of battle capable of matching yours, yet they're incapable of developing jet engines because they're too stupid?

A jet engine and a wooden fleet are two very very different things.
And that was before the industrial revolution kicked in.

Yes, I'm well aware of that, but it takes a serious amount of brains to design a wooden warship of any size, let alone a ship of the line.
SO if they're too stupid to design jet engines, how come they can design warships?
