Aeronavale aircraft in FD scale

#1 Post by Novice »

Decided that this merits a special thread. As the name suggests I'll post the aircraft used by the French navy before and after WW2. I intend on those aircraft which actually flew from the French carrier Bearn, and those aircraft which were to be used by the Joffre, these aircraft like the carrier itself never entered service.

The first is the Potez 56E which was the first ever COD aircraft, and was used by the French navy as a liaison aircraft, target tug and other duties.

The post war French navy was quickly adopting the jet engines and in 1949 was planning on using jets as fighters from its carriers. The Arsenal VG-90 was one contender, which eventually saw the Aeronavale using the SNCASE Aquilon, a French built version of the De Havilland Sea Venom

The SNCAC NC-1071 was a jet engined version of the company's NC-1070, in itself a twin engined bomber for shipboard use.
These aircraft never saw operational use and the project abandoned in 1951

Designed as a tactical attack aircraft the Breguet 1100 was also built as a naval fighter. It had two engines and was armed with two DEFA 30mm cannons and 68mm unguided rockets for ground attack. Two planes were built, the second was the naval version, known as Br. 1100M. None of the two aircraft built ever flew and the project abandoned.
