Unfortunately, I think the treasury was the one who made the decision for the Netherlands.MC Spoilt B'stard wrote:damm u politicians for not having the balls to become a powerfull naval nation again!
Nevertheless, it's a beautiful drawing of a beautiful ship!

Nice one Alex
Re: Karel Doorman II redrawn
Beautiful drawing, but one comment I do have is the propeller. It is too modern, and I don't think the ship had it ever. Not in Dutch service and not the Argentinian service.
I would check Bombhead's drawings of comparable carriers, like HMS Colossus or HMS Triumph for the correct propeller.

Thank you Kim for the crest

For that matter, that exact set of pixels should never be used again, for any screw of any era. Yeeugh.

Also USN-style personnel boats? I'm no expert on the KD, but wouldn't British-patterned launches, pinnaces etc be more appropriate, or Dutch ones? Otherwise a great redraw, although I wholly agree with earlier comments about the prop. Ditch it!

Great drawing!
But did it really had such air group mix at one time (I mean: Sea Fury, Sea Hawk, Tracker, Avenger, H-19 and H-34 simultaneously)?

Alex, here you have drawn the ship with the latest radar fit, so it will be better to have only the latest air group,
and for the ship story, (as you have done for the cruisers):
made an earlier configuration with the earlier air group...
and after, ... a argentinian early config (with skyhawks)
and why not a very late configuration with the expanded flight deck (with super etendards)
All of them with a plan view, of course
bijna met vacantie ?
