Maybe its just my poor eyes or my monitor but I wasn't aware that the British used yellow in their roundels excluding COastal Command
also what was the purpose of the blue

You could well be right on the roundels Trojan I will have to look that one up.The blue stripe on the hull was late war BPF cammo.Someone at the time must have thought it would be effective.

On allied aircraft of WWII, a yellow border around the insignia meant that that aircraft had served in Africa.
