Darth, that's the M-60A1 the A3 had thermal sleeves.

The idea is it stops the barrel from warping due to the barrel overheating etc so you don't blow your barrel like a banana skin.

In other words, the barrel is thicker due to the sleeves, the A1 and A3 were similar in design except for that fact.
