Ah, but thats for the politicians to decide. Sailors just admire each others ships and leave the declarations of war to the political hacks.heuhen wrote:until you meet Caledonia's Black fleetZephyr wrote:Mine, of course. Yelm Class 1917 Group 2
The Group 2 machinery was upgraded with geared turbines and more efficient boilers allowing the top speed to be raised to 34 knots. Armament was changed with the removal of the aft 3"/40 (12 Pdr) and the stand being enlarged to accomodate a pair of 3"/45 HA guns. The twin torpedo tubes were replaced with triples. While officially known as Yelm Class group 2, it is frequently referred to by many naval scholars as the Port Ludlow Class.
Displacement: 1,027 t standard; 1,112 t normal; 1,179 t full load
Length: 301'
Beam: 27'
Draught: 10'
Propulsion: 3 Boilers; 2 Geared Steam Turbines; 2 shafts
