I gotta ask.
Who, or why, is the guy levitating in front of the conning tower?

Hehe, I used him as a reference when drawing the platforms, as well as placing windows and such, so that I can see if my measurings gets done properly. I just haven't gotten around to delete it, if a similar situation should arise. He will not be in the actuall product, so you won't have to worry.Zephyr wrote:I gotta ask.

I've added the UW hull now.
On the to-do list:
Topedo net booms.
Coloring of different on-deck items of unknown function.
Railings.
Miscallenious wires.
More shading, mostly UW hull and 10" turret barbettes.
Bilge keel

Thank you!Trojan wrote:thats looking extremely good any plans on doing the Kawachi class
And yes, I have. The Kawachi pair is added to my worklist. It will take a while before I get to them though. First I'll need to finish this, and get it 'approved'. My guess is that my next real design ship will be the Kasuga or the Nisshin though. Probably the latter, I've always(for that year I've even known of her)liked the Nisshin. I also have the Aki, but, just like the Katori, she is of lower priority.
Re: Satsuma 1910 by KHT
Excellant I'll be looking forward to them
also any thoughts on doing eventually some of the Japanese cruisers of the time such as the Chikuma or Izumo

I think I'll take them. Ill put them up preliminarily on my worklist, and then see when I get about to do it. I'll spend some time browsing for more early 20th century Japanese ships this evening.Trojan wrote:Excellant I'll be looking forward to them

If you can get hold of a copy, this book is very good on Japanese ships:
Warships Of The Imperial Japanese Navy, 1869-1945

Hansgeorg Jentschura, Dieter Jung, Peter Mickel

Here we have it, in all it's semi-dreadnought-y glory!
Not by any means finished, it's still enough to post it as a shipbucket drawing instead of a WIP.
Thoughts:
The superstructure feels rather bare.
That wiring feels rather excessive, but my source insisted...
Also, since I didn't spot any "rescue" equipment in my sources I didn't put any on. Wrong?
This has been a very fun draw, and I will work more on it, but I need some critics from you others to see what I might have missed!
Hope you like it!
