Blue Ridge LCC

#1 Post by Radome »

Still a WIP but i think it's coming along nicely.
I plan doing Mount Whitney as she appears today, and Blue Ridge as built.
only one question, did someone drew the radar behind the Phalanx on the bow? it wil make my work easier :)

very nice to see somebody do these ships.
for the radar: if it isn't on the USN sheet I suppose it isn't done. IIRC, these ships are the only ones that use it.
Drawings are credited with J.Scholtens
I ask of you to prove me wrong. Not say I am wrong, but prove it, because then I will have learned something new.

It is not a radar, but some sort of SATCOM antenna. There are enough very high quality pictures on Navsource that you should be able to represent it with almost arbitrarily detail.

I think, like Kim has done with his Seattle-class, that you ought to keep the original slightly crimson-Burgundy underwater hull color!

Finally someone starts to work on the Blue Ridge class, I think that the pennant number on both ship should be some sort of light gray.

Their facebook page shows a badge on it http://www.facebook.com/USSBlueRidge I'm guessing that may be the current "official" one as the page is linked from the official US Navy webpage for the Blue Ridge
