Kriegsmarine 1946, second approach

Gneisenau of Scharnhorst-class as converted, more realistic
This is Gneisenau with the 15"-conversion as I think it would be more realistic, if it was readied in 1945. All the 2cm but that ones on the funnel-platform are replaced by 3cm. The 3,7cm are replaced by 5,5cm. The 10,5cm and the 15cm-singles are replaced by 12,8cm-DPs. The 15cm-twins are still there, they reach three decks deep, a removal will not be useful. Four 'Euklid'-radars are added and it's overall slightly more light aa installed.

Gneisenau in KM'46-style
Here comes the Gneisenau with state-of-the-art radar and invasion-camouflage.
Now with badge from Kim Werner.
For comparision, the Q-class battlecruiser, painted in camo, too.
Comparing the two ships, it should become clear, that the refitting of the two Scharnhorst-class ships would nearly cost the same as a new Q-class ship. But that does not really matter, cause the refit would have helped to perform so much better, that the ships would have survived critical situations. Of course, a G3 or N3 still would have a great advantage. But to comparable BCs/BBs like Dunkerque, Renown or Kongo-classes, the Scharnhorst would have been superior, simply due to sophisticated directors (the real ones, not the future stuff) and 1,5 times higher rate of fire of the 38,1cm guns.

Is that the final version of Gneisenau, or are there still more to come?

Gneisenau is a beautiful draw, althought I'm not sure about the purple camo on the armor belt.

The versions as built and with the new bow will follow. I will not do missile-pimped one, the Scharnhorsts are obsolete in 1950. Maybe a full missile-armed Q-class BCG.
